Max McGreevy Wins the 2024 Magnit Championship by Three at 18-Under

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Third-round leader Max McGreevy birdied two of his first three holes on Sunday and never looked back en-route to his third career Korn Ferry Tour win and second in 2024 on Sunday at the Magnit Championship at Metedeconk National Golf Club.
McGreevy turned in a bogey-free 3-under 69 on Sunday to finish at 18-under for the championship, three shots clear of a quartet of players at 15-under, including third-round co-leader Will Chandler.
“I was pretty steady all day long and that was kind of my mindset all day,” said McGreevy. “I knew if I shot 3 or 4 [under] it was going to be hard for, other than Will, for somebody to come catch me. Was just trying to get off to a good start and luckily that’s what I did.”
After making a birdie on No. 3 to move to 17-under, McGreevy held the lead until Chandler joined him at 17-under two holes later. Chandler, the opening round leader, was competing in the final group on Sunday for the first time on the Korn Ferry Tour. However, four bogeys over the next eight holes stalled his momentum before rallying back with birdies on 16 and 17 to finish even par on Sunday and T2 at 15-under, his best-career finish on the Korn Ferry Tour.
For McGreevy, who became #TOURBound earlier this year with a victory at the Memorial Health Championship, admittingly said he let his foot off the gas this summer after he secured his PGA TOUR card.
“I maybe thought that we kind of had already taken care of business, maybe I could have fun not on the golf course type of thing and actually enjoy life on the road and not just being a grind all the time,” said McGreevy following his victory.
“To be honest, I think I’ve realized I like the grind,” McGreevy continued. “This has been almost eight years of doing this. I mean, the grind is what makes it amazing. Being rewarded like this at the end of the grind is what makes it all the sweeter.”
The icing on the cake? Max’s wife, Olivia, flew in last night and was on hand for his win. Today was the first time she has witnessed a victory in person.
“It’s amazing to be able to have her here,” said McGreevy. “She’s been the whole comeback too, this entire year. She’s been wanting to be there for a long time, either when I got my card or when I’ve won something. It’s the little moments like this.”
With the win, McGreevy pockets $180,000 and is projected to move to second on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List heading into next week’s Korn Ferry Tour Finals, taking place at the Albertsons Boise Open.
